tubercular, tuberculous

Usage has established these adjectives as interchangeable in their meaning of "relating to, or having, tuberculosis." A person afflicted with this disease can be referred to as tubercular or tuberculous. Although tubercular is more often used than tuberculous, the latter is regularly used by medical personnel (tuberculous growth in the lungs, tuberculous cells).
